Trace a claim to its origin, transformations, custody, publication context, and dependency chain.

Operational sequence

  1. Record the earliest available origin and source type.
  2. Map every known copy, translation, excerpt, redaction, and analytical transformation.
  3. Capture publication date, jurisdiction, institution, author where known, and review status.
  4. Separate byte integrity from truthfulness of content.
  5. Link the public conclusion to the exact report heading that supports it.

Failure states

  • Treating a repost as a second source
  • Assuming a cryptographic hash proves truth
  • Citing a whole report when one section supports the claim
  • Omitting source limitations
