Analytical boundary: Autonomy is analyzed by function, context, constraints, evidence, authority, intervention capability, and lifecycle—not as a single label attached to an entire machine. Capability is not deployment; deployment is not autonomous use; recommendation is not authorization; model confidence is not positive identification.
Simulation safety boundary: Synthetic, non-graphic, non-operational education only. Use fictional geography, abstract objects, reserved domains, nonfunctional artifacts, constrained inspect/pause/replay actions, and no real targeting data, attack geometry, payloads, credentials, arbitrary external URLs, malware, command execution, or contact with third-party systems.

WORKING BRIEF
Human-directed mode requires individual review and can be overwhelmed by volume and latency. AI-assisted mode reduces the queue but can make the operator a bottleneck or induce deference. Preauthorized mode acts within a prior envelope but may apply stale or overbroad rules at machine speed.
The simulation expands Find, Fix, Track, Identify, Prioritize, Authorize, Engage, and Assess into sensors, uncertainty, fusion, rule sets, communications, human stations, and an append-only ledger.
After each run, users inspect which observations were hidden, how assumptions shaped the queue, whether a human could intervene in time, and what safer configuration would preserve defensive benefit while limiting irreversible error.
