For each case, document the shared mechanism, divergent institutions, scale, chronology, and outcomes. Difference is part of the finding rather than noise.

A formal similarity can conceal radically different power relationships. Include colonial, racial, gendered, class, legal, and military asymmetries where evidence supports them.

Explain why these cases were chosen and which plausible counterexamples were excluded. Cherry-picked pairs can create a pattern that disappears in a wider set.

A historical mechanism can generate questions for the present, not a deterministic forecast. State the conditions required for transfer and the evidence that would invalidate it.
