One-sentence brief
Consequences can make choices meaningful, but opaque or indefinite sanctions turn a game into coercive downtime. Due process is also a game system: players investigate, challenge, correct, and repair institutional decisions.
INTERNATIONAL GAME SYSTEMS
A fictional justice system built around clear rules, behavior-specific evidence, notice, proportional consequences, independent review, and a usable appeal instead of automatic guilt or endless punishment.
ORIENTATION
Consequences can make choices meaningful, but opaque or indefinite sanctions turn a game into coercive downtime. Due process is also a game system: players investigate, challenge, correct, and repair institutional decisions.
WORKING BRIEF
Prohibited behavior, jurisdiction, evidence standard, possible consequence, decay or completion condition, and appeal route are available before play. Emergency restrictions receive prompt later review.
Server logs, contract states, verified damage, and attributable actions may support a case. Nationality, faction membership, diagnosis, distress, poverty, language, association, or mere access cannot establish guilt.
The player receives a plain-language explanation in the selected interface language, with timestamps, evidence categories, affected privileges, duration, and how to preserve or submit counterevidence.
Minor first-time violations favor education, repair, or limited restrictions. Severe or repeated misconduct may justify stronger action, but uncertainty, system fault, coercion, self-defense, and mitigation remain visible.
An appeal is reviewed by someone not responsible for the original decision where practical. The reviewer can reverse, reduce, extend, remand, compensate, or require system correction and records the reason.
Public notices avoid personal details and real-world allegations. Aggregate enforcement reports describe rules and outcomes; individual evidence remains limited to authorized participants and review staff.
