One-sentence brief
Emergent quests can create vibrant communities, but a market where nobody can distinguish legitimate work from fraud collapses. Risk must be visible, optional, bounded, and recoverable.
INTERNATIONAL GAME SYSTEMS
A two-lane contract system that separates protected, engine-verified work from explicitly risky role-play without normalizing unpaid labor, bait-and-switch design, or hidden scams.
ORIENTATION
Emergent quests can create vibrant communities, but a market where nobody can distinguish legitimate work from fraud collapses. Risk must be visible, optional, bounded, and recoverable.
WORKING BRIEF
A verified quest locks payment, exposes the objective and settlement rule, limits cancellation, and creates a dispute record. Fees are modest and disclosed so safety does not become a luxury product.
Players may opt into fictional uncertainty, unreliable issuers, negotiation, or betrayal where the interface marks the risk clearly. The system never disguises a risky quest as verified or relies on a hidden terms-of-service exception.
Doxxing, off-platform coercion, impersonating staff, real-money fraud, sexual exploitation, hate targeting, threats, credential theft, and manipulation of a player’s mental-health vulnerability remain prohibited regardless of quest type.
A deceptive or failed quest can still produce bounded salvage, evidence, reputation context, story consequences, or compensation where the system caused the failure. Zero-value hours with no learnable signal are not meaningful difficulty.
Completion history and upheld disputes may inform choices, but scores decay, explain their inputs, exclude protected traits, and allow correction. New players are not presumed untrustworthy because they lack history.
Operators watch acceptance, completion, dispute, fraud, newcomer participation, concentration, and abandonment. If risky quests crowd out legitimate work, the system changes rather than blaming players for avoiding exploitation.
