REAL-WORLD INTERPRETIVE

INTERNATIONAL GAME SYSTEMS

Epistemic States, Provenance Objects, and Caveat Preservation

A server-authoritative evidence model in which observations, reports, assumptions, judgments, decisions, and unknowns never collapse into one truth value.

ORIENTATION

Why this matters

REAL-WORLD INTERPRETIVE

One-sentence brief

Intelligence gameplay becomes more credible and fair when players must understand how a claim was produced, not merely collect enough icons to fill a certainty bar. Provenance also prevents laundering one rumor into artificial consensus.

REAL-WORLD INTERPRETIVE

Three key points

  1. Source reliability, information credibility, probability, and confidence are separate values.
  2. Derivative reports retain parents, transformations, caveats, and correction status.
  3. Unknown is a valid and often responsible outcome.

WORKING BRIEF

Evidence, context, and limits

REAL-WORLD INTERPRETIVE

The epistemic state vocabulary

Observation records raw perception or data. Report adds source and context. Assumption bridges a gap and must be declared. Inference connects evidence logically. Speculation explores beyond current support. Allegation remains attributed and unverified. Corroborated finding has independent support. Adjudicated conclusion is an institution’s accepted position. Unknown is a registered gap.

  • States can change with new evidence.
  • Institutional acceptance is not omniscient truth.
  • A report can be authentic while inaccurate.
REAL-WORLD INTERPRETIVE

Do not compress evidence into one score

Source reliability asks about the origin’s history and access. Information credibility asks about this claim. Probability estimates likelihood. Confidence describes evidence quality, independence, and completeness. Impact and urgency affect warning without changing truth status.

REAL-WORLD INTERPRETIVE

The provenance object

Each object receives a unique ID, source or collection class, timestamps, handling chain, original language and format, translation record, transformation log, caveat array, classification or releasability, parent and derivative links, entity references, confidence notes, correction state, and immutable audit history.

REAL-WORLD INTERPRETIVE

Independence is a graph question

Two reports do not corroborate one another when they share a sub-source, handler, press release, dataset, translation, liaison feed, or derivative summary. The server tracks lineage privately and can expose the circularity as an analytical discovery.

REAL-WORLD INTERPRETIVE

Caveats travel with the finding

Low confidence, uncorroborated status, translation ambiguity, source limitation, sanitization, and alternative explanation are locked to the relevant judgment. Summaries cannot extract the conclusion while silently dropping the doubt; authorized caveat changes remain attributable.

REAL-WORLD INTERPRETIVE

Unknown generates responsible gameplay

Players may register an unanswerable requirement, request clarification, seek lawful corroboration, lower confidence, issue a warning with explicit limitations, or refuse to manufacture certainty. “We do not know” can preserve institutional trust and prevent harmful action.

DISPUTED / MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS

Known limitations and gaps

  • These pages are editorial transformations of supplied research with a July 20, 2026 cutoff; they do not independently verify every legal, social, linguistic, or institutional claim.
  • Institutions, ruling parties, armed groups, religions, ethnicities, language communities, diasporas, and civilian populations are separate analytical subjects and must not be treated as interchangeable.
  • Protected traits, diagnosis, migration status, poverty, foreign ties, language, religion, or political disagreement are never evidence of guilt, disloyalty, violence, or intelligence activity.
  • Operational instructions, targetable details, security-control bypasses, and procedures that could materially enable surveillance, coercion, intrusion, evasion, or harm are omitted.
  • Regional, linguistic, legal, accessibility, lived-experience, and independent specialist review remain open correction gates.
